Come learn and network with other families of children with congenital heart defects! We hope to see you Saturday, May 19, 2012 at the Palmetto Health Children’s Hospital Auditorium in Columbia, SC! Lunch is included. Registration begins at 9:30am and sessions will end around 4:00pm.

1 in 100 births is a child with a CHD! Between now and February 28, 2012, the first 100 people to pledge $10 (or more) as a monthly donation for a one year period will become one of our “Hundred Hearts.” Just click on our “Donate Now” link and choose “Recurring donation.” Only the first 100 people to pledge will be considered our “Hundred Hearts” for 2012.

Join us on Saturday, April 14, 2012 at 9am for Palmetto Hearts CHD 5K Run and Walk. This is our first ever 5K and we’re all excited about it. $2 Million has been directed to the CDC for Congenital Heart Disease Surveillance. The appropriation of this money to fund the activities called for in the Congenital Heart Futures Act is a battle hard fought, and ensures permananet forward progress. 2011 Pediatric Cardiology Reunion

The 2011 Pediatric Cardiology Reunion was a huge success! Over 180 people joined us at the James Island County Park for fun, food and fellowship with fellow heart families! Kids enjoyed the inflatables, clown and balloon animals, not to mention the cotton candy, popcorn, snocones and cupcakes, while the adults took advantage of this wonderful opportunity to catch up with heart families as well as meet new ones, too!

Attention, Palmetto Hearts families! We want to hear from you! In an effort to get to know each other better, we will be adding a special section to our new website with stories about your family’s journey with CHDs! All you need to do is write a short summary of your journey and send it along with two photos (if possible, one post-surgery and one current) of your heart warrior to kathy@palmettohearts.org.

We hope this new section of the site will provide us with an opportunity to get to know each other better, as well as provide hope and encouragement to new CHD families.
