for South Carolinians affected by Congenital Heart Defects

Palmetto Hearts serves and supports South Carolinians touched by Congenital Heart Defects and Diseases.  Believing individuals’ and families’ needs vary as greatly as the CHDs affecting them, we offer several types of support—emotional, informational, and social.   Through such efforts, we hope to share the trials and celebrate the joys of loving someone with a CHD.

What's a congenital heart defect?  A "CHD" is a structural malformation of the heart that is present at birth.  There are no known causes or cures.  Almost all CHD's require life saving surgery.  In South Carolina all surgeries to repair or correct congenital heart defects are undergone at the Medical University of South Carolina.

How can you help? Whether you would like to volunteer your time, talent, or treasure, we appreciate the willingness of individuals to give back.
